Dr. Neil Sarkar

CEO

  • Responsible for setting the overall direction and strategy for the company and for leading the design and development of AdHawk’s core technology and infrastructure
  • Inventor of the MEMS scanner-based eye-tracking, head-tracking and gesture recognition systems that are under development at AdHawk
  • Co-founder of Integrated Circuit Scanning Probe Instruments (ICSPI Corp) with over 15 years of experience as a MEMS design engineer
  • PhD fellow of the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology, winner of the 2014 Douglas Colton Award for research excellence in microsystems, a two-time winner of the Manning Award for Canadian Innovation and a recipient of the NSERC PGS-D award

  • Responsible for business operations and development, strategic initiatives and financial management for AdHawk
  • Former Vice President in Global Investment Banking at RBC Capital Markets with over 8 years of experience executing mid to large-cap public and private financings, IPOs and providing M&A and other corporate advisory services
  • MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, P.Eng, CFA charterholder
 

Dr. Nino Zahirovic

CTO

  • Responsible for advising on product development and related strategy for AdHawk

  • R&D leader with substantial breadth and depth of technical and research experience from digital design and software, to analog and RF circuits with hands-on lab skills and a holistic approach to system design and product development
  • Over 5 years experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of hardware, software and algorithm engineers to implement state-of-the-art technologies for AMOLED displays
  • PhD Electrical Engineering and BASc in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, recipient of the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology fellowship and NSERC PGS-D award

Dr. Winter Yan

VP Manufacturing

  • To lead operations in Asia for wafer-level packaging and MEMS release process
  • Key technical contributor to a wafer level packaging technology which later served as a platform for all company wide products
  • Over 1 billion products shipped based on this platform
  • Personal/professional network with access to extensive manufacturing resources in Asia
 

Dr. Raafat Mansour

Professor & Advisor

  • Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo 

  • Senior Canada Research Chair in Micro and Nano Integrated RF Systems

  • Founding Director of the Center for Integrated RF Engineering (CIRFE) at the University of Waterloo

  • 20+ years of technical and management positions in RF MEMS industry and research

  • 37 U.S. and Canadian patents to his credit (33 awarded and 4 pending) and has published over 350 papers

Duncan Strathearn

Product Development

  • Extensive experience in a number of micro and nanosystem design roles and recently designed the hardware, software, and MEMS that are used in ICSPI’s flagship single-chip Atomic Force Microscope product
  • BASc in Nanotechnology Engineering from the University of Waterloo

  • Over 5 years of experience with microfabrication in a clean room environment, developing and optimizing various MEMS processes – in particular, CMOS-MEMS processing
  • MASc in Electromechanical Engineering, BASc in Nanotechnology Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a recipient of the OGSST scholarship

 

Mahdi Olfat

Software Development

  • Vast experience as an embedded system designer in various Silicon Valley and Waterloo companies
  • BASc in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is currently pursuing a MASc Degree in the RF, Microwaves, and Photonics group at the University of Waterloo

 

 

Brendan O'Hanlon

Product Development

  • Experienced in hardware engineering, specializing in rapid prototyping and embedded systems
  • BASc in Nanotechnology Engineering from the University of Waterloo

Dr. Arash Rohani

Optical Development

  • Experienced in design, development, and characterization of advanced optical and THz sensing systems and contributed to the design and development of more than 20 complete sensing systems being employed in industrial environments
  • PhD Computational Electromagnetics, MASc Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering at the University of Waterloo
