Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for various aspects of the design and testing of electro-mechanical hardware used in AdHawk’s camera-less eye tracking solution. While we are seeking a mechatronics generalist (experience in both electrical and mechanical systems), an emphasis on mechanical is preferred. You will have access to 3D printers, CAD software, and various mechanical prototyping tools allowing you to quickly iterate on designs. You will also have the unique opportunity to contribute to mass-production mechanical projects, designing for injection molding, working with vendors, and owning the design from concept to final product. You are a curious, well rounded, and driven person who loves to solve problems and develop new and innovative technology. You are capable of working independently and meeting tight deadlines with changing priorities, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. 

Candidate Requirements

Undergraduate engineering degree with relevant mechanical hardware experience

Job Responsibilities

• Contribute innovative and original ideas to the technology and products from ideation to implementation
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to design, prototype, and test opto-electromechanical systems
• Design and integrate novel eye-tracking microsystems into customer headsets and validate performance
• Design and perform qualification tests on hardware
• Integrate eye tracker hardware in various form factors
• Work with hardware and software engineering teammates and project managers to ensure on-time customer shipments

Required Skills

• Mechanical design and testing experience
• Rapid prototyping: 3D printing, test jigs and fixtures, and general hands-on prototyping experience
• Experience with part and assembly modeling in CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
• Strong technical writing expertise for production of datasheets, application guides, and customer correspondence

Good Skills to Have

• Experience designing for human factors and anatomy
• Consumer product development and manufacturing experience
• Basic programming: C/C++/Python or equivalent
• Worked with MEMS based sensors
• Electrical design and PCB design experience
• Flex, rigid-flex, and HDI board design
• Circuit troubleshooting
